Living in Color 5k Fun Run/Walk

5k Color Run/Walk on May 21st , 2022. At the end of life, we are always reminded of the importance of living each day to its fullest. We are excited for the first annual Living in Color 5k to support our mission of promoting dignity and comfort at the end of life. Purchase Tickets before May 1 to receive a T Shirt for $25. After May 1st, Tickets are $30, and T shirt sizes are not guaranteed, but you can wear a white shirt, or dress up however you like! We also have special rates for teams, and we can’t wait to see your spirit! The race starts and finishes at the Hospice House 1754 Centennial Drive. Guided Meditation and stretching at 8:30am, race starts at 9am! After the race, stick around for food, prizes, and a donation bar!

The race will start and end at Hospice of Laramie- 1754 Centennial Dr. This is off Pierce Street in West Laramie

PARKING: Will be in the Developmental Daycare lot across the street from Hospice. You will take a left turn off Centennial Drive. (Thanks, Developmental Daycare!) From there, you can walk to the staging area/start in front of the Hospice building! Please do not park on Peirce Street!

START TIME: Registration will open at 8am, and we will have a guided meditation led by Dr. Lou Farley at 8:30 AM. (You can still register during the mediation time, if you like) The race will Start from the Hospice Parking Lot at 9am!

FUN RUN: This is a fun run and will not be timed or scored. We are cheering for you and throwing color at you whether you come in first, last or in-between! Walk, Run, Skip…. just come have fun!

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING:

  • White! If you pre-ordered a shirt- they are mainly white, and if you didn’t, its no problem, just wear something mainly white!
  • If you signed up after the cutoff for guaranteed shirts- shirts will be on a first come first serve basis at registration.
  • The color powder will mostly wash out of your clothes, but may leave some residue- so wear clothes you are not concerned about getting stained! This goes for running shoes, too! Have fun with this, think, TuTu’s, Unicorn Costumes, Themed group costumes! We will have a prize for best dressed team and best dressed individual runner!
  • Ziplock Baggie for your Cell Phone
  • Bandana or Face Covering if you think you may be sensitive to the colored powered (Its Cornstarch and nontoxic Food Dye). We wont aim for your face, but be on the safe side if you think you should! There will be 6 color stations along the route!
  • Sunglasses: Same reason as above- plus, its going to be sunny!
  • On that note- bring Sunscreen!
  • A change of clothes or old towel for after the race! Babywipes or paper towels are a great idea, too! We will provide you a big ol’ garbage bag if you would like something to put down on your car seat for the drive home!

You can pick up your shirts ahead of time at Hospice of Laramie on Friday 6/17 between 8am and 6pm OR on the morning of the race. We do require masks in the building. Masks are optional outdoors.

Bathrooms: A Porta-Potty Will be available (Thanks, Honeywagon!).

First Aid will be available if needed on race day (Thanks, Nova Health, aka Stitches Urgent Care!).

We will have water and light snacks available during and after the race as well as the Bloody Mary Bar! Thanks, Northridge!
